If Red Bull does not come back in Formula 1, the days of Max Verstappen should be counted at the brown racing stable. Mercedes is considered a hot point of contact for the Dutchman. A former size of the silver arrows advises against the mega transfer.

It is no secret that the many admirers of Max Verstappen is also Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff. As early as the previous year, the Austrian stretched the silver sensors to Verstappen when it was crisis internally at Red Bull – and not even hidden this.

Should Red Bull’s sporting descent continue this year, the Verstappen team will not soon offer a victorious car again, Wolff in the bullet around the king of the pilots should be on the mat again.

Former Mercedes technology chief James Vowles advises the silver arrows from getting Verstappen on board. The class of the four -time champion is undisputed, says Vowles.

“But he also brings with it a lot of disadvantages that you shouldn’t just ignore. I think Mercedes has a strong culture in the team – with two drivers who get the maximum out of the car, and with one who is currently on the way up. So I personally do not think that there is space for Max.”

That means: Mercedes should continue to build on George Russell and super talent Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who was previously strong this season.

Vowles does not believe that Verstappen/Russell works

Especially since Vowles does not believe that a potential driver pairing would work/Russell would work.

“I don’t think,” the Williams team boss replied to a question: “They are two very different characters. I’m not Toto, but I think Mercedes has a really promising driver duo for the future.”

Russell may have hope for a new contract at Mercedes after his recent achievements. Laving the British makes no sense for Mercedes, according to all experts.

Means: Mercedes accepts an explosive duo and really wants to shit, would have to go to Antonelli’s own plant again next year. “He is on the right track to become extremely competitive. So you should continue to invest in him,” Vowles advocates the further employment of the Italian: “If you see what progress he makes in qualifying, he improves week after week, and basically he only has four Grand Prix.”
