Mick Schumacher should breathe a sigh of relief. He finally manages a clean lap in qualifying and with that he can move up to tenth place in the interim standings. Vettel, for his part, flies out of the top ten.

Fernando Alonso can move up to eighth place. For Sebastian Vettel, however, it goes back. He is now only in 13th place.

George Russell is just under a second faster than his teammate Lewis Hamilton and takes the lead in the standings with a 1:55.842. But that could change soon, because Leclerc is on a good lap.

Start qualifying
The traffic lights are green, qualifying has started in Singapore. The two Mercedes drivers go straight onto the track on the intermediate. It doesn’t take long for other pilots to follow. They also raised the Inter once.

The rain radars show that the heaviest rain should be over. The track continues to dry and the probability of rain for the next hour is just 20 percent. The asphalt temperature is 27 degrees, the air temperature is still a warm 26 degrees.

Like yesterday, Fernando Alonso was in a good mood. The Spaniard finished fourth on his Alpine in the last practice session before qualifying. At least Sebastian Vettel was still eighth. Mick Schumacher was 14.

Leclerc wins final training
On Saturday, the drivers were greeted with a lot of rain in Singapore, which also messed up the final practice session. Due to heavy rain, only 30 minutes were driven instead of 60 minutes. The pit exit had initially been closed by race control until the rain let up and it was drivable. As the conditions improved more and more, it went relatively quickly to the intermediate. Charles Leclerc had shown the best performance on the wet track. With a time of 1:57.782 minutes, he stayed around half a second ahead of Max Verstappen. Carlos Sainz was third.

Verstappen on the way to the title
The final phase in Formula 1 begins with the Grand Prix in Singapore. A total of six races are still waiting for the teams and drivers in the 2022 season. The world champion seems to have already been determined with Verstappen. In theory, Max Verstappen can already close the sack in Singapore. However, a lot would have to fit together for this to happen, so that a decision can actually be assumed at a later date.

Goose bumps guaranteed
The Singapore Grand Prix means excitement and goosebumps. The night race creates a feeling for fans and drivers and if that weren’t enough, the characteristics of the route also ensure maximum excitement. Due to its length and its many bends, the Marina Bay Circuit is one of the most difficult street circuits of all and demands everything from the drivers, because there are not many passages to rest.
