Start 2nd training
The traffic lights are green, the start of the 2nd training session in Montréal, QC has taken place. The two Alfa Romeo drivers were the first to take to the track.

The sun is also shining before the 2nd practice session in Montreal. The track has meanwhile warmed up to 42 degrees. The air temperature is 26 degrees. The chance of rain is 40 percent.

Alfa and Haas with room for improvement
Alfa Romeo and Haas had room for improvement. The teams that started the season in the upper midfield find themselves far behind in Canada. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou found themselves in positions 16 and 17. For the Haas team, places 18 and 20 came from Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen.

Aston Martin strong on the road
In addition to Fernando Alonso, the two drivers from Aston Martin were also able to do well in the first practice session. Local hero Lance Stroll was seventh and Sebastian Vettel was also in the top ten in ninth. Between the two Lewis Hamilton had placed in the Mercedes.

Verstappen with the best time in the 1st practice session
Max Verstappen was able to set the best time in the first practice session. The World Champion set a 1:15.158 on soft tyres, beating Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari by two and a half tenths. Fernando Alonso was the only driver in the field to set his best time on the medium and finished third, 0.4 seconds behind Verstappen. Sergio Pérez finished fourth ahead of Charles Leclerc in the second Ferrari.

At Formula 1 in Canada, the 2nd practice session is on the agenda. At 11:00 p.m. the route will be released. The teams then have 60 minutes to work on their setups towards qualifying and the race.
