Even a heavy rain shower couldn’t stop the world champion: Max Verstappen easily won the Grand Prix in Monaco.

Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen has won the Monaco Grand Prix for the second time and is heading for his third world title in a row. In the sixth success of his Red Bull team in the sixth race of the season, the Dutchman won in his adopted homeland easily ahead of the Spanish veteran Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin and Alpine driver Esteban Ocon (France).

After his 39th Formula 1 victory, his fourth this season, Verstappen significantly increased his lead in the world championship over his team-mate Sergio Perez (Mexico) to 39 points.

Nico Hülkenberg, who also lives in the Principality, missed the points in the Haas due to two time penalties, among other things.

Now to Barcelona

For Verstappen it was the fourth win of the season and the 39th of his career. The next Grand Prix will take place next Sunday in front of the gates of Barcelona in Spain.
