According to media reports, a man was killed in a shooting near the track a few hours before the Formula 1 race in Mexico City.
The Mexican Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on Sunday evening (9:00 p.m.) as planned.
Three police officers and a taxi driver were injured. The dead man is said to be a 35-year-old local man who had tried to steal a car.
Charles Leclerc starts the race from pole position at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz came second in qualifying and world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) third.
