Formula 1 leader Lando Norris starts the sprint at the Brazilian Grand Prix from first place on the grid. The McLarenThe driver made it to the top in 1:09.243 minutes, just ahead of Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes.
Oscar Piastri only took third place in the second McLaren for the short race over a good 100 kilometers on Saturday (November 8th, 2025, from 3 p.m. in the live ticker of the Sportschau). World champion Max Verstappen only ended up in sixth place in the qualification in São Paulo.
In the thrilling three-way battle for the title, Verstappen is threatened with a setback in South America. “The car is undrivable“, cursed the four-time champion on the pit radio. Rain and storm: it gets uncomfortable when sprinting
On the legendary track in Interlagos, the top eight in the sprint already receive World Championship points, the winner receives eight points. However – as has often been the case in Brazil – it could be chaotic, as it is expected to rain heavily on Saturday. Strong winds are also forecast in some areas. Verstappen can handle difficult conditions very well, as he showed last year when he spectacularly raced to victory from 17th place on the grid in the Grand Prix.
Before the 21st of 24 races of the season on Sunday (from 6 p.m. in the live ticker of the Sportschau), the Briton Norris is currently leading by just one point over the Australian Piastri. Behind them, defending champion Verstappen from the Netherlands is lurking, 36 points behind Norris, with his chance of becoming world champion for the fifth time in a row.
