The view of the World Cup stand
After the race in Barcelona, Max Verstappen is the new leader in the drivers’ championship. He leads Charles Leclerc with 110 points. Sergio Pérez is third with 85 points. George Russell has 74 points to his credit and ranks fifth. Sebastian Vettel has only been able to take four points and is 14th. Mick Schumacher still has no points.

It starts to dribble
It seems that some riders’ hopes are being answered. It’s starting to dribble in Monaco! The first spectators put on their raincoats and open their umbrellas. Is there still a wet race in the Principality?

What’s up for Mick Schumacher?
Meanwhile, Mick Schumacher should hope that we will experience a chaotic Monaco GP today, because otherwise it should not be easy for the Haas youngster with starting position 15 with the points. So it’s little consolation that teammate Kevin Magnussen didn’t make it into the top ten on the grid either.

Vettel out of the top ten
A week ago in Barcelona, qualifying for both Aston Martins was already over in Q1. In Monaco, Sebastian Vettel was stronger in qualifying and secured a place in the top ten for the race. It was completely different with teammate Lance Stroll. Vettel had clearly beaten that after Stroll in 18th place had already retired in Q1.

The rain as an opportunity?
Before the weekend, the rain was the big issue in Monaco. Many forecasts spoke of a high probability of rain for Sunday’s race. In the meantime, the chance of rain has dropped to 40 percent. However, rain cannot be ruled out, because some dark clouds are forming over the route. They also ensure that the asphalt has cooled down over the last few days. The track temperature is currently 37 degrees. The air temperature is 23 degrees.

Verstappen from fourth place
Max Verstappen should be served. The Dutchman has been left behind in Monaco so far and has not been able to top the performances of Leclerc and teammate Pérez. After all, in qualifying, the current championship leader couldn’t do more than fourth place.

Crash pilots on two and three
Two crash pilots have lined up behind Charles Leclerc on the starting grid. Sergio Pérez had spun into the gang on the last fast lap entering the tunnel. Sainz passed this point a little later and spun his Ferrari into the Red Bull standing across the track. Red flags followed, securing the two drivers’ positions for the race. Both had to swap parts for the race, but there were no penalties for doing so. Sainz is in the front row next to his teammate. Pérez will start from third place.

Can Leclerc end Monaco’s bad luck?
Charles Leclerc has known the winding streets of Monaco since his childhood, but the Monegasse was not really lucky at his home Grand Prix. Neither when he started in Formula 2 nor in Formula 1 did he see the finish line in Monaco. At the “Grand Prix de Monaco Historique” a few weeks ago, he crashed Niki Lauda’s racing car from the 1974 Formula 1 season into one of the crash barriers after a brake problem. Will he manage to shake off the bad luck at home today? At least so far the weekend has been perfect for him and yesterday was pole with a strong time of 1:11.376 minutes.
Warm welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Monaco Grand Prix. The legendary race in the principality starts at 3:00 p.m.
