Start qualifying
The traffic lights are green, qualifying has started at Silverstone…

How’s the weather?
The weather should also be a big factor in qualifying. There are dark clouds over the route and it is very windy. The rain arrived in time for qualifying and the track is already wet in some places.

The distance
The Silverstone Circuit north of London has been part of the Formula 1 program since the very beginning and is one of the classics in motorsport. Above all, the many flowing curve combinations make the 5.891 kilometers in Silverstone a highlight. The sequence of Copse, Maggotts and Becketts, driven at more than 250 km/h, demands everything from the drivers.

Anything going towards the top ten?
Mick Schumacher was also able to put in a good performance in the third practice session, and he certainly has a chance of a place in the top ten in qualifying. The Haas driver was able to finish ninth. Sebastian Vettel did not make it into the top ten in the final training session, but was not even a tenth slower than compatriot Schumacher. So he could also go in the direction of Q3.
15:37
Verstappen as favourite
Max Verstappen is also the favorite at Silverstone. In the final training, the Dutchman left his competition far behind. With a time of 1:27.901, the Dutchman beat team-mate Sergio Pérez by 0.410 seconds. Charles Leclerc was 0.447 seconds behind in third place. The Mercedes duo is behind Leclerc. Carlos Sainz was sixth.

Verstappen comes as a championship leader
After a bumpy start to the season, the tide has now turned in favor of Max Verstappen. The Dutchman has won five of the last six races and is now leading the World Championship by 46 points over team-mate Sergio Pérez. Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari is 49 points behind Verstappen.
Who gets the pole?
In Formula 1 at Silverstone, things get really serious for the first time. From 4:00 p.m. it will be decided who will start from pole in Sunday’s race.
