Former Ted Baker executive Leon Shepherd becomes chief technology officer

E-commerce specialist Secret Sales has filled a key position. On Monday, the off-price fashion retailer announced the appointment of Leon Shepherd as chief technology officer.

The experienced digital expert is said to help drive the trading platform’s recently announced expansion plans. “The appointment comes as the company prepares to make significant investments in its technology offerings as part of its aggressive global growth strategy,” the company said in a statement.

In his new role, Shepherd will now be actively involved, according to the company, in “optimizing the digital experience at Secret Sales” and creating a “seamless, future-oriented marketplace platform for brands, retailers and consumers”. He will also lead the launch of the new website, which is based on the “Progressive Web App (PWA)” principle.

Shepherd was most recently employed by apparel retailer Ted Baker until the end of January as chief information officer and digital strategy director. Before that, he held various management positions at well-known companies such as Jack Wills, Fat Face, Marks & Spencer and Vodafone.
