Timo Boll was able to win 19 European Championship titles in his career. He only recently ended his career. But it remains in the sport of table tennis.
Timo Boll shaped the table tennis Bundesliga for more than two decades. Now it is clear: the 44-year-old, who already acts as an official ambassador for German table tennis, will remain in the sport in another role. In the future, Boll will accompany selected TTBL games as an expert on the streaming service Dyn, including matches from his former club Borussia Düsseldorf.
Five months after the end of his active career, the former top player will have his first game as a TV expert next week: On November 12th (6:30 p.m./Dyn) he will analyze Borussia Düsseldorf’s home game against Borussia Dortmund.
Boll said in a statement from Dyn that he was looking forward to accompanying the games “from a new perspective” in the future. As an expert, he wanted to share his experiences and pass on the enthusiasm for table tennis that has carried him throughout his life.
During his career, the former world number one won, among other things, 19 European Championship titles, four Olympic medals and 14 German championships with Borussia Düsseldorf. He played his last game in the Bundesliga final against TTF Ochsenhausen in June. Since then, Boll has also been active as a brand ambassador for the Borussia Dortmund footballers.
