In the investigation into the punctured tires in West Friesland, the police arrested a 27-year-old suspect without a fixed place of residence. In recent days, a tire picker has been active in places such as Hoogkarspel, Grootebroek, Enkhuizen and Andijk. The suspect is a former employee of construction company Schadenberg.
It was suspected that it was a former employee. The car and the license plate of the perpetrator were spotted by several people. The police received reports and statements, and CCTV images showed the suspect. He was arrested on Wednesday evening.
Especially vans from contractor Schadenberg from Hem were the target. Nineteen tires had punctured at that company alone. Some private cars were also affected. The perpetrator struck from Monday to Tuesday and from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The police are continuing the investigation.
