Former PSV player convicted in Switzerland for cocaine trafficking and money laundering | Dutch football

Former PSV footballer Willy S. (61) was sentenced this week to eight years in prison by the Swiss court. The Eindhoven resident has been found guilty of cocaine trafficking and multiple money laundering.

The ex-player has been in prison for two years, but has to grumble for a total of eight and a quarter years, it writes Swiss medium Blick† In addition, after serving his sentence, he will be deported from the country and not allowed to return for the following eight years. His accomplice was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison.

His accomplice was caught with two kilos of cocaine that he brought from the Netherlands to Switzerland. However, the drugs would have been purchased by S. in the Netherlands. The former football player was also arrested. The police destroy the drugs and the car, which had a secret compartment that could be used to smuggle items. The same applies to two (counterfeit) watches, which were confiscated at the time.

Special football trip

S. played seventeen games for PSV between 1978 and 1981, during the time of football players such as Ernie Brandts and Jan Poortvliet. He then embarked on a special journey through the football world. He played through clubs in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Cyprus and Indonesia.

In 2013 he eventually found shelter at amateur club RKSV Nuenen as a trainer. He did not last long there, within six months he was at loggerheads with the group of players.
