On course for the Champions League?

Aston Villa is on course for the European Cup again. The fact that the team from Birmingham could even win the Europe or Champions League after the Conference League this season is also due to former Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey (26). The Jamaican has now received a new contract with the Lions with an undisclosed term.
In coach Unai Emery’s current fifth-place team, Bailey, who left Bayer 04 before the 2021/22 season, is the second best scorer behind Ollie Watkins, the current assist king in the Premier League. The teammate is one of only eleven players in the league to have more goal contributions than Bailey.
Bailey’s market value initially suffered a significant dent after his departure from Leverkusen (transfer fee 32 million euros) and, after an interim loss of 10 million euros, climbed again by 5 million euros since Emery joined the Claret and Blue Army in autumn 2022 and brought success to the traditional club. Bailey is now valued at 30 million euros.
