Former “Jackass” actor Bam Margera was arrested on March 2 in Escondido, California. The reason is the suspicion of bodily harm to the current or former partner, roommate or partner – a so-called panel code that often arises in California in connection with domestic violence. The unnamed woman accused the former skateboarder and stuntman of kicking her, prompting her to call the police.
After posting $50,000 bail the next day, Margera was released from prison near San Diego. The prosecutor’s office does not plan to press charges at this time. “The authorities will not bring charges in this case because they only bring charges if they believe they can prove the crime beyond a reasonable doubt. It’s unclear if charges will be filed elsewhere,” a spokesman for the attorney general’s office told “TMZ” known.
The victim is said to be, also according to “TMZ‘ to refer to Margera’s current girlfriend and not his estranged wife, Nicole Boyd, as it was first said. The couple have a son born in 2017 and announced their separation in 2021. “Nikki Margera was forced to file for separation from her husband Bam Margera because of his lack of support for her and their son and continued drug and alcohol abuse,” her attorney said in a statement at the time.
The accused had repeatedly struggled with his addiction problems in the past. In 2021 he went to a rehab for a year. It is unclear how the allegation will continue.
