The former first lady of the Ivory Coast, Simone Gbagbo, has asked for forgiveness “from the entire Ivorian nation and those who have suffered terribly, who have lost parents, jobs and who have been forced into exile”. She did this at a gathering of thousands of militants and sympathizers of her party, the Movement of Capable Generations (MGC), which will participate in the regional and municipal elections for the first time in September, in the town of Bouaké.
