Former Hoffenheim player Ermin Bicakcic is returning to Eintracht Braunschweig

Left the “Lions” in 2014

Ermin Bicakcic is back at Eintracht Braunschweig. The 33-year-old central defender had already spent two and a half seasons with the “Lions” between 2012 and 2014 before moving to TSG Hoffenheim. After 147 competitive games, the Bosnian’s working paper in Kraichgau expired. In the last three years there have hardly been more than a dozen professional games there, primarily due to injury reasons.

“Eintracht Braunschweig is a matter close to my heart – the city, the club and the fans have always had a special meaning for me. I feel fit and feel the fire in me,” said the former Stuttgart player, who has been playing since the U17 level and made the leap into professional football.

“We are very pleased that we were able to convince Ermin to play for Eintracht again,” explained Braunschweig’s sports director Peter Vollmann. “He is a leader type and we are convinced that with his footballing qualities and his positive nature he will be an asset on and off the pitch. The conversations with him showed how passionate Ermin is about this task.”
