The former president of Bundesliga soccer team Hertha BSC, Bernd Schiphorst, has been awarded the club’s golden badge of honor with a brilliant.

The current President Kay Bernstein presented the 79-year-old with the special award at the general meeting on Sunday in exhibition hall 22 at the radio tower. “It’s really great that you’re giving me this honor,” said Schiphorst at the ceremony.

Schiphorst is chairman of the Hertha Foundation, which has existed for 20 years and initiates social projects and supports the association’s tradition. The media manager had previously led the club as president for eight years. “I became president somewhat surprisingly, that wasn’t planned,” said Schiphorst, who “enjoys the work at the foundation a lot”.

For his eightieth birthday on January 29, 2023, Schiphorst wishes the blue and white team to win. A day earlier, Hertha plays against 1. FC Union in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
