Keep dreaming about the Premier League
Offensive player Jean-Paul Boëtius is still without a club after his contract with Hertha BSC was terminated. A situation that was not intended this way. “I didn’t think it would take so long until I had a new club again,” revealed the 29-year-old in a “Kicker” interview. There were “various interested parties from different countries”.
Boëtius played 21 games for Hertha, but in which he did not contribute to a goal. Those in charge of the “Old Lady” could certainly have imagined that the Dutchman would have stayed on for the resurgence mission, but the rumored high salary would also have put a strain on the Berliners’ budget. The professional drew a clause to terminate his contract, which is valid until 2025.

“I don’t know, maybe I was too critical when making the selection, but of course the clubs also look at the data and see that I didn’t have a goal or an assist last season. I don’t think that’s ever happened to me before,” said Boëtius. His transfer to Hertha was not a mistake. “No, I stand behind every decision I made.”
Boëtius wouldn’t describe himself as a gambler. “I didn’t wait to get any better offer. If I don’t have the 100% feeling that a club is a good fit, then it wouldn’t be good for me to sign there anyway. It wouldn’t be honest if a club trusted me but I didn’t trust them completely.” The right-footed player still wants to play in the Premier League. “Yes, that dream is still alive. In any case, I feel deep in my heart that this will happen again.”
