This main character was formed by Donker’s memories of a former colleague. Donker rejects the idea that he has given himself the leading role, despite some similarities. With a sense of self-knowledge: “Actually, I wasn’t a very good boa. More of turning a blind eye and shit, don’t do it again. I hated writing out a receipt. If you can solve it with a good story, that’s fine too.”
The Dwingelderveld is an area par excellence that is the subject of many stories. “A unique area in cultural history. Embedded in a green setting that refers to times long past.” And if Donker feels like it, he will roll up many more myths and legends. “I know so many stories that I can write two more parts.”
