Former FC Bayern star brought into play at BVB

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund started the new season in anything but a confident manner. According to observers, a construction site that is opening up at BVB is the central midfield. Although the transfer window is only open for a few more days, a former superstar from FC Bayern has now been brought into play for the black and yellow.

A commitment by BVB from midfield strategist Thiago would have “charm”, emphasized former Bundesliga commentator Marcel Reif in his “Bild” program. The Spaniard is “of course” a player who looks good on Borussia Dortmund.

The fact that Marcel Sabitzer, who came from FC Bayern, and Felix Nmecha, who was brought in from VfL Wolfsburg, is still needed in the control center of the district club despite the commitments of Marcel Sabitzer, who came from FC Bayern, was not least due to the two mixed performances on the first two matchdays against Cologne (1: 0) and Bochum (1:1).

“In order to play a championship fight in the German Bundesliga, you need a certain quality. For the time being, I dare to doubt whether Nmecha can do that. So you need a seasoned (player, editor’s note)”, says the 73- Year-old, who also drew a comparison to the transfer plans for the German record champions: Similar to FC Bayern having solved their nine-pointer problem with Harry Kane’s commitment, BVB must now also think about its midfield.

Thiago switched from Bayern Munich to Thomas Tuchel’s FC Liverpool in 2020. The 32-year-old is only tied to the Reds until 2024.

Thiago to BVB? “You have to get out of the saddle”

Reif therefore speculated: “Klopp says from old friendship: ‘I’ll give you a special price.’ If he’s unhappy there… and his injuries seem to me to have something to do with his head, there’s always something that would be a solution. You wouldn’t argue about Thiago.”

According to Marcel Reif, whether a Thiago transfer would ultimately be feasible for BVB is a different matter: “You have to get out of the saddle. Can they do it and will Klopp help them with a discount? I don’t know if he can that can. He can do everything in Liverpool, but that?”

Rumors of a change had recently arisen about the former Munich player. According to transfer reporter Ekrem Konur, the Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq is planning a first offer. The club had already used Liverpool once this summer, signing Jordan Henderson.
