Peter V., the former director of the Kanjer Wens foundation, is guilty of sexually abusing at least thirteen underage boys and producing child pornography. The court in Lelystad determined this on Friday. For this, the man from Almere receives 9 years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment. Serious sexual offense case
Two rooms in the Lelystad court are completely filled with the public, mainly family of the victims and the victims of Peter V. himself. The 55-year-old man from Almere was suspected of sexually abusing at least thirteen underage boys between 2006 and 2021. He even allegedly sexually penetrated at least two of them.
He met a large number of these boys as director and founder of the Kanjer Wens foundation, with which he organized days out for chronically and seriously ill children. This foundation has now been dissolved. The man was also suspected of filming the abuse and possessing and producing child pornography.
Most precious possession entrusted to you
Although most of the victims come from the Almere area, V. also sexually abused underage boys in North Holland. For example, one of the abuse cases took place in Hilversum and he is said to have abused several boys when he was a trainer at a football club in Weesp.
The court considers the abuse of these thirteen underage boys and the production and possession of child pornography proven. “V. was known as a friendly and jovial man who could make wishes come true. Boys went to Ajax and football matches in England,” the chairman of the court begins.
“But behind this friendly mask was a man who abused the boys. He used the boys for their own lusts. Parents let people into their homes and entrusted him with their most precious possession.”
Emotional sessions
No fewer than two days were set aside in November to deal with the substance of this case. During these days, the sexually explicit details of the intense sexual offense case were discussed in detail. Ultimately, the Public Prosecution Service announced that they 12 years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment demanded against V.
“V. was the good guy, the child friend who cared about children and parents. He was seen as a saving angel,” the public prosecutor said at the time. “But V. turned out to be the Trojan horse, the safe environment was the lion’s den and the saving angel was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
Also the victims and the parents of the victims were allowed to exercise their right to speak in November. This led to an emotional day in court. “The number of people in the court here today shows how big your dirty rampage has been. What is it worth?” he said. V. himself denied everything.
