Former chairman Van Praag believes in Ajax’s Champions League win: “Moment will come”

He doesn’t say it based on the game against Rangers FC (4-0). Michael van Praag is convinced that Ajax is capable of winning the Champions League. The former chairman says that in football talk show De Aftrap you can see it again today from 17.10 pm on TV at NH Sport.

“I think the moment will come,” says Van Praag, who supports the policy that the national champion has been pursuing for about six years. Van Praag waves away that Ajax has it easier than PSV or Feyenoord because the club has much more money. “They were able to collect that money through that policy.”

Goalkeeper coach Harald Wapenaar agrees with Van Praag: “Ajax has made investments that have given the team a boost. Look where they are now.” Van Praag does acknowledge that the team is obliged to continue to perform on the field. “In my time we budgeted that we played European football once every three seasons. Ajax can no longer afford that.”

The Kick-Off can be seen on TV every Friday at NH Sport. The first broadcast is at 5.10 pm and after that you can watch it every hour in the repeat. In addition to the guests, former international Barry Opdam plays the game Raak de Vlag against Erik-Jan Brinkman. At the end of the broadcast you can see what the FC De Aftrap team looks like.
