Former Austria boss takes over Tchibo leadership

The Tchibo trading group is getting a new boss. The previous Austria boss Erik Hofstädter was appointed by the supervisory board on Tuesday as the new chairman of the management board of Tchibo GmbH, as the company announced.

He follows Werner Weber, who moved from the supervisory board to head Tchibo at short notice in 2021. According to the information, Weber will move back to the supervisory board of Tchibo GmbH.

Weber called his successor a “high-profile marketing and sales expert.” Before his three-year stint at the helm of the Austrian Tchibo subsidiary, the 45-year-old reportedly worked for Red Bull, Lindt & Sprüngli and Coca-Cola. (dpa)
