Beijing (dpa) – There is the next corona case in the ARD team for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The former alpine star and today’s expert Felix Neureuther was added to the Olympic program on Sunday morning via video.
“I’m fine, so everything is fine. Tonight before the show I did the usual corona test and it was positive,” said the 37-year-old to presenter Jessy Wellmer. “Very surprised, I’m really sorry too. It’s a shame that we’re separated, Jessy.”
Neureuther is not the first person to be affected by Corona on ARD. Biathlon Olympic champion Arnd Peiffer had recently tested positive for the virus and was unable to appear as an expert in the Olympic studio in Mainz. Moderator Michael Antwerpes, reporter Lea Wagner and investigative journalist Hajo Seppelt were unable to travel to Beijing because of their infections. Reporter Claus Lufen had to go into quarantine in Beijing after a positive test and left after a good week.
