Iltalehti met with wise experts and fans in Turin, all of whom believed The Rasmus to go to the finals.
The small Piazza in Turin’s old town is filled with restaurants. Welsh Ian and Keith enjoy the hot Turin by the glass.
– How did you think we were visa fans? We are really tough visa fans. In August, we will come to Finland for a visa cruise, says Ian, who speaks with a funny Welsh accent.
Both, of course, want Britain Sam Ryderin to survive. And it is true, after many miserable years, the British representative has been bet on the top end of the visas.
But what about Finland and The Rasmus?
– The Rasmus is awesome! It will definitely go to the finals, Ian says.
Ian points out Saara Aallonwho finished in the finals in 2018. Ian and Keith are both excited to hum Monsterssongs.
– Sarah should have done better. But there were completely useless elements in the show. I see the same risks in The Rasmus performance, Ian says.

There is no way there is an overabundance of Eurovision in Turin, but it is easy to separate visa fans from the street scene. The Dutch party enjoys beer in the sunshine and their favorite is of course the Dutch S10.
– During the pandemic, it has happened in the Netherlands that the music of our own country has become really popular. This was not the case before. S10 is one of the most popular artists in our country, says one of the members of the party.
What about The Rasmus and Jezebel? Does it sink into the Dutch?
– Haha, now I have to say we don’t remember what it is like. Didn’t it have a good chorus, fans wonder.

At the press center attached to the Viisa Arena, on the other hand, everyone has an opinion about The Rasmus. Many of the journalists interviewed by Iltalehti expect The Rasmus to go to the finals, where it will be ranked in the top 15. The chances of winning are not believed.
– I do not want there to be politics in Eurovision. But yes it is. I believe Ukraine will win, the editor of the Estonian magazine Kroonika Merilin Mölder says.
– The Rasmus is going too, I’m sure, Mölder continues.
Greek TV reporter Alexandros Pasiatas says this year is different from previous years.
– We have no sure winner, as in previous years. Ukraine may be, for reasons we all know. The Ukrainian song is also good.
Pasiatas thinks 7 countries are struggling to win. In addition to Ukraine, the countries are Sweden, Britain, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland and Norway.
– A lot depends on the condition of the day. I also think there is a lot of difference between the voices of the panels and the voices of the audience.
What about The Rasmus and Jezebel? What opportunities does it have?
– I love your song! I love The Rasmus because it reminds me of my youth. It will definitely go to the finals. It could very well get into the top 10 if the singer’s song goes well in the juryshow (the juries give their points based on the juryshow that is sung before the TV final).
Pasiatas is excited to talk more about Finnish music.
– Blind Channel last year! Good time, it was completely insane. And the voices of the singers were incredibly good. I love Blind Channels.
