Tomorrow is a big day for a lot of foreign-speaking newcomers who are taking Dutch lessons at the MIRAS adult education center. This week, 122 students will take the NT2 test for the first time in Kortrijk, Ypres and Waregem.
“A successful test is very important for those who want to integrate or later career opportunities,” says Maika Holvoet of CVO Miras.
“If they do not obtain the guideline grade 1 certificate, they cannot, for example, rent a house or something. So, it really has a lot of consequences for the student.”
Students can take a practice test of the NT2 exam in advance. The mandatory Dutch Second Language test will count for 60 percent of their final evaluation.
