Russia hopes that the European Union, unlike the United States, will not impose sanctions against it, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said in an interview “RIA News”.
“We hope that, unlike Washington’s approach in the sanctions field, which is devoid of any adequacy, prudence will still prevail in Brussels and such restrictive measures <...> will not be used,” the deputy minister said.
According to Pankin, the stability of the international financial system itself, the restoration of the global economy and the ability to timely meet the goals of sustainable development may, first of all, suffer from new sanctions.
The Deputy Foreign Minister said that the “attack” of Russia is a crazy idea-fix of the West
Western countries, including the United States and Great Britain, have repeatedly stated that in the event of an escalation on the border with Ukraine through the fault of Russia, tough sanctions will be imposed on the latter.
