Foreign exchange: Euro starts stable into the week

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The euro got off to a stable start into the new week on Monday. The common currency was trading at $1.0690 in the morning, about as much as Friday night. The European Central Bank (ECB) set the reference rate a little lower at $1.0625 on Friday afternoon.

The week starts calmly, at least in terms of economic data. In the eurozone in the afternoon only figures on consumer sentiment are on the program, which the markets usually only take note of. Due to a national holiday, there is largely silence in the USA./bgf/stk
