Forecasters told when the sun will come out in Moscow

By the 22nd, January has already fulfilled its monthly precipitation rate. Over the past night, snowdrifts in Moscow have grown again, and the height of the snow cover is steadily approaching half a meter. Today, the capital will continue to sweep, but not so intense.

Five in the morning is perhaps the best time for a total cleaning of the roads. There are almost no cars, so even in the center of the capital, snowplows occupy almost the entire roadway. Ice porridge flows down to the sidewalk in a wave, where forklifts are already waiting for it.

Only two millimeters of rain fell last night, and now the sky is already clear. The main trails are free of snow, which cannot be said about the yards. Here it is still very difficult to pass in places, and almost impossible to pass. A rut that you can’t get out of, and a parking lot that you can’t get on.

Forty-centimeter snowdrifts that have formed in Moscow since the beginning of January have already begun to be actively eliminated. However, the weather will not be completely cloudless. The cyclone now looming over Central Russia is already breaking up, forecasters say, but it could still hold some surprises.

“Since it will snow from Friday until Sunday morning, there will be quite a lot of precipitation. In total, up to seven to eight millimeters. This will lead to an increase in snowdrifts in the capital to forty-five, forty-seven centimeters,” says Vadim Zavodchenkov, the host specialist of the FOBOS Weather Center.

The “yellow” level of danger will be extended until the end of the weekend, mainly due to ice. So on the roads, as before, it is better not to accelerate and keep your distance. And it is best to go to the park with sleds or skis. On Saturday, a comfortable temperature is minus 3-5 degrees, which above the climatic norm. And on Sunday it will get colder to minus eight, but the clouds will dissipate, and finally the sun will appear.
