Forced break for ex-BVB star Erling Haaland

Forced break for Erling Haaland: Manchester City’s goalscorer is missing from the Norwegian national team in the upcoming international matches. There is no serious reason for concern for the former BVB star.

Haaland has to miss the tasks against Spain (March 25) and Georgia (March 28) due to a groin injury. This was announced by the Norwegian Football Association in an official statement on Tuesday morning.

“We had hoped that it would only be a small thing, but after several tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he cannot play in the upcoming games,” said team doctor Ola Sand: “It’s better if he can play in his club will receive further medical treatment.”

Head coach Ståle Solbakken added: “Erling was hit hard when he found out he couldn’t play for the team. Luckily there’s still enough confidence, talent and unity in this group to get points in the next couple of games. We don’t let our heads hang a millimeter, but continue to work on being optimally prepared for Saturday and Tuesday.”

Erling Haaland meets FC Bayern

Haaland is currently in top form at Manchester City. After his transfer from BVB to the Skyblues last summer, which cost around 60 million euros, the 22-year-old has scored an impressive 42 goals in 37 competitive games so far.

Thanks in part to Haaland, Manchester City still has a chance of winning the Premier League title. Star coach Pep Guardiola’s side are eight points behind Arsenal in second place but still have a game to play.

In the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Haaland and Manchester City will soon have a cracking duel with FC Bayern from the Bundesliga.
