Minister Ernst Kuipers is tightening up the rules so that the admission ticket is only valid for 180 days after infection and for 270 days after vaccination.
Rules tightened
With this, the minister hopes that more people will get their booster shot and he is aligning the rules with those of the European corona certificate (DCC), with which Europeans can travel through Europe.
Last shot before May 1th
In people who have had their last shot before 1 May (one shot from Janssen or two from another approved vaccine), the evidence lapses. The corona ticket is used to travel, but also, for example, to visit the catering industry or a cultural institution.
Teens
But what about teenagers who do not yet have access to the booster shot? At the moment, they don’t have to worry yet, because they only received their first vaccinations later and as a result, the first corona tickets for this group of people only expire in May. By then, the EMA (European Medicines Agency) is expected to have issued an opinion on whether or not to boost this age group. If they do recommend it, teenagers can probably get the booster soon and before the proof expires. If the EMA does not advise boosters for this group of people, that is not a condition for the corona admission ticket.
