According to AZ, talks with Ajax about the sensitive transfer to Amsterdam did not lead to a satisfactory result, but AZ has now reached an agreement in the dialogue with Kroes itself. Except that Kroes is not allowed to start immediately, it has been agreed that he will pay fifty thousand euros.
That amount, AZ says on the website, is a ‘symbolic amount’ and will go to the Alkmaar Zaanstreek Foundation. AZ waives further financial compensation. It is important for the Alkmaarders that Kroes adheres to the conditions of the non-competition clause and does not perform any work for Ajax until March 15, 2024.
Kroes only worked at AZ for a short time. On December 1, 2022, he joined as director of international football strategy and formed the management team of the Alkmaarders with Robert Eenhoorn and Max Huiberts.
