fear prevails in relation to economic instability and the difficulty in sustaining the domestic economy. 49% of Argentines inflation changed their lifestyle. The data comes from a study by the consulting firm Horus Cognitive Intelligence, which shared the results of a survey that detected a delegitimization of the figure of President Alberto Fernández.
The claim of citizenship in that order is by measures to address the wage situation (“that they beat inflation”). In this sense, the Government highlighted that Maro’s wages grew above inflation: the total wage index for March had a monthly growth of 7.4% (vs. 3.1% in February), and all sectors accelerated the growth rate of wages compared to the previous month.
“In the month of March, several increases corresponding to joint quotas were applied. They stand out raises in unions Gastronomy (16.2%), Transportation (14.7%), Chemicals (13.5%), Food (12%), Commerce (10%), Security (9.2%), Construction (8.2 %), Textiles (7.4%), Health (6.7%), Wood (6%), Footwear (5.1%), Meat (5%), Metallurgists (5%) and Building Managers (2 .3%)”, highlights the statement.
By sector, the salary of private sector registered grew 56.4% year-on-yearthe one from Public sector 63.8% year-on-year, and that of the unregistered private sector 41.6% year-on-year. That is, the informal employment has a almost 20 point gap percentage with the state worker, and it is the segment hardest hit by the inflationary impact, one even in May and where food is the main expense (food that grows at 8% monthly in nearby businesses)
“A crisis of confidence is evident, and a loss of credibility, boosted by the inflation goals set in 2021 that were not met, and that translate into the discomfort and anger of users. In this context, they hold the National State, and especially President Alberto Fernandez, responsible for the current situation of inflation and also of poverty”, explains Esteban Neme, partner of Horus, Cognitive Intelligence.
“To date, 79% of the accusations are generic criticism of the economic model and delegitimization of the President, although only 10% are critical on technical grounds (issuance, social plans, IMF). In other words, in this context, the main aspect is the crisis of confidence, where the mention of the culprit predominates without the need to specifically justify why”, adds Neme.
The impact of the agreement with the IMF is barely 1% of what it has to do with the economic crisis, according to the public reached by the study, while the lack of an economic plan represents 79%. Barely 2% blame “social spending” and 7% on the monetary issue to compensate for the deficit.
