Footballers Clasie and Meijers invested tens of thousands of euros in illegal gambling

Several professional football players are involved in an illegal gambling business. AZ player Jordy Clasie transferred large sums to the company’s account and former FC Volendam footballer Aaron Meijers bought shares, it reports. General Newspaper

Research by the AD shows that the involvement of a number of professional football players is greater than previously thought. Besides Clasie and Meijers, Tom Beugelsdijk (Sparta Rotterdam) was also involved and ex-Ajacied Ricardo Kishna (ADO Den Haag) was approached to invest money. Meijers is said to have transferred an amount of 20,000 euros for the shares. He later transferred 56,000 euros to a bank account linked to Edobet.
