Footballer kicks opponent unconscious: six months in prison demanded

A 28-year-old man from Den Bosch was heard demanding six months in prison at the court in Arnhem on Thursday. The football player from the third team of amateur club CHC from Den Bosch kicked a 20-year-old football player from the second team of RKTVC from Tiel unconscious at the end of November 2021. The prosecutor believes that there was serious assault.

During the match in Tiel, there was a commotion on the field with the necessary pushing and pulling. The CHC player was on the bench with a yellow card. When he saw the disturbance, he ran from the bench into the field.

There he kicked the victim from behind against the neck and head with a straight leg. The player of the club from Tiel then collapsed unconscious. The player from Tiel has since suffered from memory loss, forgetfulness and sleep disorders and was traumatized.

The public prosecutor also wants the inhabitant of Bossche to pay compensation of 6,000 euros. The verdict is on Thursday 30 March.
