Footballer Alderweireld signs with Antwerp for three years
The transition of footballer Toby Alderweireld from the Qatari Al-Duhail to Antwerp is complete. The Belgium international passed the physical and medical tests on Friday and then signed a three-year contract with the Belgian club of trainer Mark van Bommel and technical director Marc Overmars.
Alderweireld played for Al-Duhail since last summer. Between 2015 and 2021, the central defender spent six seasons for London’s Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. He has now played 121 international matches for Belgium. Alderweireld also played for Ajax.
Earlier, Antwerp already brought in the Dutch striker Vincent Janssen.
