Striker veterans Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María lead the Argentine national team to the World Cup in Qatar.
The “Albiceleste” squad also includes Lautaro Martínez from Inter Milan, Leandro Paredes from Juventus Turin and Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur, as national coach Lionel Scaloni announced at the presentation of the 26-strong squad. Exequiel Palacios from Bayer Leverkusen is also there from the Bundesliga.
Paulo Dybala and Juan Foyth, who were injured recently, also made it onto the final list for the World Cup. “The players are proud to have been selected and to wear the shirt. We hope the fans are too,” Scaloni said in a video published on Twitter.
Argentina will play against Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland in the group stage in Qatar. In the first game, the two-time world champion and current South American champion will meet the national team of Saudi Arabia on November 21st.
