The English national football team will have to do without defender Ben White at the World Cup in Qatar with immediate effect.
The Arsenal FC professional has left the Three Lions camp in Al-Wakrah “for personal reasons” and has traveled back home.
His return is not expected, said the FA Football Association on Wednesday. “We ask that the player’s privacy be respected at this time,” the statement said. White remains without a stake at the World Cup.
England, led by team manager Gareth Southgate, advanced to the round of 16 with a 3-0 win over Wales on Tuesday, in which they meet Senegal on Sunday.
