Football supporters throw flares and stones, steward seriously injured

A steward was seriously injured in an assault after the match between FC Den Bosch and Top Oss. Supporters clashed and threw torches and stones at the police. Other flight attendants were also injured. Several people have been arrested.

In stadium De Vliert in Den Bosch FC Den Bosch played 4-1 against TOP Oss on Saturday evening. According to the police, an aggressive and threatening situation arose after the game. Football supporters of both clubs clashed and committed several vandalism.

The supporters also directed their aggression against several stewards and the Mobile Unit (ME). A flight attendant was assaulted and taken to hospital with serious injuries. Other flight attendants were also injured and are being treated in hospital for their injuries.

Multiple arrests not ruled out
The police scrambled to bring the situation under control. “For example, the riot police formed lines several times and carried out charges to separate groups,” the police reported.

Several supporters have been arrested and taken to the police station. The peace around the stadium then returned. Police do not rule out multiple arrests.
