Compared to the narrow defeat against Valladolid, Quique Flores made three changes. Stefan Mitrovič replaces Gastón Álvarez in the back three, Fabrizio Angileri takes over from Iglesias on the left and Luis Milla is in charge of central midfield in place of the absent Mauro Arambarri.

The royals arrive undefeated. However, the Spanish record champions showed themselves vulnerable for the first time in the last league game and dropped points. The Madrid side couldn’t get past a 1-1 draw against CA Osasuna. As a result, they lost the lead in the standings to FC Barcelona and now find themselves in a chasing role. With a three-pointer and as many goals as possible, they could put pressure on their long-term rival, who won’t be there until tomorrow.

Getafe is slowly gaining momentum. Quique Flores’ men may have lost their last game, but the 3-2 defeat by Real Valladolid showed that they have improved, particularly in attack. Before that they could celebrate two wins in a row and are therefore two points above a direct relegation zone. Of course they are still the clear underdogs against Real Madrid.
