Dele Alli

Dele Alli (Everton FC) is shown a yellow card.

Alli puts her foot over it. He is warned.

88

19:18

It remains to be seen whether the home win that it looks like here is really deserved. The EFC must be annoyed that they didn’t make more of the opportunities they had. A draw would have been possible after the good second round.

85

19:14

Divock Origi

Tooor for Liverpool FC, 2-0 by Divock Origi

…the preliminary decision! Robertson’s corner lands at Henderson on the opposite side of the box. His cross, in turn, on the far post, sharpens Díaz with a side pull. Origi stands three meters in front of the box and nods off.

84

Not harmless! Alisson threw both fists into Mykolenko’s half-high free-kick cross from the defensive right wing. The ball ricochets back in the direction of your own line. Then Rondón commits an offensive foul.

Gray! Suddenly the good opportunity for table 18. Gray takes heart and hurls the marble from a central 20 meters at full speed just past the left corner of the goal.

70

19:01

The final phase begins, the LFC seems to have everything under control at the moment. The blues can barely breathe.

67

18:57

Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford (Everton FC) is shown a yellow card.

Pickford then scolds the referee for being fouled while defending his fist. Yellow for complaining.

66

18:56

Double chance Liverpool! After a corner, Pickford makes a mistake through his own sixteen. His fist defense ends up on the left-back at Alexander-Arnold, whose cross Matip heads in at the far post. In front of the line, the guests clarify in front of Salah’s feet. From nine meters, the 29-year-old hammered the pill over the crossbar from a half-right position.

65

18:55

The fact that they were the more dangerous team in the second round was particularly bitter for the Toffees. Although they only generate eleven percent possession of the ball, most of the opportunities were on their side.

62

18:51

Andrew Robertson

Tooor for Liverpool FC, 1-0 by Andrew Robertson

Robertson brings Anfield to a boil! Salah finds Origi with his pass from the right in the five-meter space, which bounces directly back for the Egyptian. Robertson nods his cross on the back post from six yards into the net.

58

18:47

Trent Alexander Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool FC) is shown a yellow card.

Gordon is up and away from a Liverpool corner on the left. Alexander-Arnold stops the youngster hard with a tackle Yellow is correct.

56

18:45

Gordon! This time the 21-year-old comes to an end after an Iwobi pass on the left from the sixteen. From a very acute angle, however, he maneuvers the leather past the long corner.

53

18:43

Iwobi counters via half left and sends Gordon into the penalty area. Matip rushes backwards with his arm out against the Everton player. A robust, from the point of view of the referee but fair entry of the ex-Schalke player.

51

18:41

Both sides are now picking up speed in switching actions. But first Keïta frittered away the marble when trying to pass from the right wing to the centre. In return, Iwobi gets stuck in the box.

48

18:37

After a Robertson corner from the left was blocked, Keïta dropped it from 18 meters. But there is no real danger involved.

46

18:35

It continues without personnel changes.

46

18:34

Kick-off 2nd half

45

18:22

Mid-term conclusion:
A heated Merseyside derby comes to an end for the time being: Liverpool FC and Everton FC are tied 0-0. The Reds are optically superior, but can rarely create danger against the extremely compact defense of the guests. Pickford didn’t have a real chance to fend off – if he did, the home side often try to do it with long-range shots. The highlight of the first section was the formation of a pack just before the half-time whistle, caused by Doucouré’s entry. Playfully, it can almost only get better. It remains exciting, see you soon!

45

18:16

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mané (Liverpool FC) is shown a yellow card.

A small pack is formed. Mané then has his hand on Allan’s face. He also sees the yellow box for this – and is lucky that it is not rated as an assault.

45

18:16

Official injury time (minutes): 2

45

18:15

Abdoulaye Doucoure

Abdoulaye Doucouré (Everton FC) is shown a yellow card.

Richarlison is down but Liverpool just keep playing. Doucouré does not like that at all, he kicks Fabinho in midfield without motivation. Clear yellow card.

43

18:13

Salah combines on the right with Keïta from the right into the box. But his direct attempt from 16 meters races well over it.

40

18:10

The support from the stands is fantastic. Heimelf fans know their team could use any encouragement.

37

18:07

However, the Klopp team is still struggling. They can hardly find a gap against the compact guests.

34

18:04

Good opportunity for the toffees! With a quick counterattack, Richarlison sends Doucouré to the top via a half-right. The shot of the 29-year-old from 14 meters from the right whizzes past the long corner.

31

18:01

The pressure on the Reds is now steadily increasing. After a Robertson cross from the left, Jota pulls directly from the left ten meters – clearly past the left.

29

17:58

…the standard brings nothing.

28

17:58

Dangerous! van Dijk narrowly missed a free kick from the left half-field in the six-yard box. Corner…

25

17:55

Anthony Gordon

Yellow card for Anthony Gordon (Everton FC)

Gordon moves into the penalty area and falls to the ground without touching the opponent. Referee Attwell gives him a yellow card for swallowing.

22

17:52

Mané announces the LFC at the front. From 18 meters, the Senegalese slams the ball over the box with his weaker right.

19

17:49

Thiago crosses from the left half-field with his right foot wide onto the second post. But Pickford intercepts in front of the waiting Salah – and takes a lot of time off the clock, to the displeasure of the home fans.

16

17:46

Mykolenko escapes Alexander-Arnold on the left wing after a fine pass from midfield. The right-back is robust in the duel, so that Mykolenko goes down. Lucky for Alexander-Arnold that foul and free kick are not decided here.

15

17:45

Gray dives at the left corner of the penalty area and moves towards the center after two fake shot attempts. However, his degree is blocked.

12

17:41

The Reds currently have a whopping 86 percent of ball possession. Only clear actions in the last third are still missing.

9

17:39

Aside from the dead ball, the Lampard squad are very far back. She only attacks from the middle of her own half of the game.

6

17:35

For the Blues there is a first good free-kick opportunity from 23 meters slightly half-left position. Fabinho fends off Gray’s direct attempt but standing in the wall.

3

17:33

As expected, Liverpool starts with a lot of pressure. Everton are a bit behind at the moment.

17:07

Conversely, the same applies to the toffees. Although they have two games less than Burnley FC, they are currently two points behind in the first relegation zone 18 due to the Clarets win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Recently they have been able to achieve respectable results again. At home they narrowly defeated Manchester United (1-0), and recently they managed to draw (1-1) against Leicester City in front of their home crowd. Can they annoy their city rivals today?

4:50 p.m

The Reds continue to catch up. They are still second in the standings behind rivals Manchester City. Because the Sky Blues have already won their game against FC Watford this weekend (5-1), coach Jürgen Klopp’s team is under pressure today. In view of the tight rescheduled schedule, including games against Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea FC, the following applies today: it’s forbidden to lose!

16:33

Hello and welcome to matchday 34 of the Premier League! Everton are visiting Liverpool in the Merseyside derby today. Kick-off is at 5:30 p.m.
