Substitution at West Ham United: Lucas Paquetá
31.
9:48 p.m
Lucas Paquetá holds the ball strongly in his own penalty area and then drives himself forward. On the way towards the opponent’s half, the Brazilian suddenly stops his run, plays the ball out of bounds and has to be treated.

9:48 p.m
Aréola prevents the equalizer! Gabriel Jesus brilliantly chips the ball from the right of the box up into the middle to Bukayo Saka. The 22-year-old comes to the header from around seven meters and aims for the top right corner. Alphonse Aréola raises his left arm and, with a strong move, just barely scrapes the thing off the line.

9:46 p.m
With the lead behind them, West Ham can of course now concentrate even more on their beloved counter-attack game and do so. However, they have not yet been able to achieve a breakthrough.
26.
9:43 p.m
Arsenal are still unbeaten at the Emirates in the current Premier League season and have only lost points twice. However, the draws came against Tottenham and Fulham of all teams. Things aren’t going well for Mikel Arteta and his team in the city’s internal duels.
24.
9:40 p.m
The Hammers’ defensive work is really impressive. They regularly defend the area with all their hands up to about ten meters from their own penalty area. This makes the spaces extremely narrow and gives the fast opposing strikers no chance to attack the depths.
21.
9:38 p.m
West Ham is currently, for once, gaining some possession of the ball in an orderly positional game. The East Londoners are doing really well at the moment and are keeping the action well away from Alphonse Aréola’s goal.

9:36 p.m
Arsenal are by no means shocked by the goal they conceded. They immediately look for the way back into the attack. But they hardly find any gaps there at the last minute.
17.
9:32 p.m
The hit counts! The images don’t clearly show whether the ball is out of bounds or not, as Bowen was right in the field of view in the best camera angle.
14.
9:31 p.m
The hit is from VAR checked. It’s about whether the ball was already out of the goal when it was created or not. This is really a millimeter decision!

Tooor for West Ham United, 0-1 by Tomáš Souček
West Ham takes the front with their first dangerous counterattack! Actually, the Hammers’ counterattack on the left side seems to have already stopped. But Lucas Paquetá doesn’t allow himself to be separated from the ball, does another little extra lap in midfield and then serves Emerson. The left-back hits the ball sharply from the half field in front of the goal. Bowen misses, but behind him Gabriel and Zinchenko cannot clear. Instead, they shoot at each other in the best slapstick style and almost score an own goal. But the ball flies just to the left of the box. But Bowen is still lurking there and makes the situation hot again. In what was probably the very last moment before the ball crossed the goal line, the Englishman passed the ball inside to the completely free Souček, who then had no problems finishing from close range.

9:26 p.m
Ward-Prowse brings the ball high to the second post almost from the right touchline. Souček rises highest there, but nods the ball clearly to the left of the goal.

9:25 p.m
After a long time, West Ham can once again break free from their own half. In the end, Coufal, who had moved up, was passed over by Zinchenko on the right offensive side and the Irons received a free kick.
6.
9:22 p.m
Arsenal clearly showed dominance early on in the match. The home team pushes the Hammers deep at the back and looks for the gaps.
4.
9:19 p.m
At the right corner of the penalty area, Ødegaard puts the starting Saka in the spotlight with a fantastic backheel trick. The 22-year-old Englishman then looks for the finish from a tight angle. However, with his rather unplaced attempt he fails because of Aréola.

9:17 p.m
The guests are directly on the offensive. However, a long-range shot from James Ward-Prowse flies well over the middle of the goal.

9:16 p.m
Let’s go! West Ham opens the last game of the first half of the season and plays entirely in blue. Arsenal are holding out in their usual red and white.

Game start
9:03 p.m
The two clubs from London have already met once this season. On November 1st, West Ham United beat Arsenal FC 3-1 in the League Cup. An own goal from White and strikes from Kudus and Bowen gave the Irons a 3-0 lead before Ødegaard sealed the final result deep into stoppage time.
20:54
David Moyes will be without his captain Kurt Zouma. The Frenchman will be replaced in central defense by Angelo Ogbonna.
20:52
Compared to the 1-1 draw in the top game against Liverpool, Mikel Arteta only made one change. Leandro Trossard moves into the starting line-up for Kai Havertz, who is missing due to a yellow card suspension.
8:47 p.m
There have been ups and downs for West Ham in recent weeks. The Hammers are unbeaten at home in December and have only conceded one goal in four games. Most recently, the Irons even managed a 2-0 win against Manchester United. But abroad the balance looks completely different. Although they won 2-1 at Tottenham at the beginning of the month, the other two away games were a complete failure. West Ham suffered a 5-0 thrashing against Fulham and a 5-1 defeat at Liverpool in the League Cup.
8:31 p.m
Arsenal managed to retain their top position in the Premier League with a 1-1 draw at Liverpool FC last Saturday. Since the Reds have already presented in the long-distance duel, the Gunners are under absolute pressure today. Home strength should certainly help us get back to the top. After all, Arteta’s troops have never lost a game in front of their own crowd. There were seven wins and two draws in the league. Of course, they now want to further expand this balance sheet.
20:13
Have a wonderful good evening and welcome to matchday 19 of the Premier League. Arsenal FC wants to get back to the top of the table and has to survive the London derby against West Ham United. The match kicks off at 9:15 p.m. at the Emirates Stadium.
