Football players beat Belgium 5-0 in the last test before the World Cup

The football players of Orange have won the last exhibition match before the World Cup against Belgium. In the reasonably filled Parkstad Limburg Stadium in Kerkrade it became 5-0.

Lieke Martens, Sherida Spitse and Lineth Beerensteyn scored in the first half, Victoria Pelova and substitute Katja Snoeijs made the margin even bigger after the break.

The fans could already cheer for Martens’ opening goal in the 2nd minute. Stefanie van der Gragt missed a penalty kick after fifteen minutes. Captain Spitse did use the next penalty. Beerensteyn’s long shot was the best goal of the evening, on a pass from Martens.

The Dutch will travel to Sydney on Friday for the next phase in the preparation. On July 23, Portugal will be the first opponent in the group stage of the World Cup. This is followed by meetings in New Zealand with the United States and Vietnam.
