France’s stars only on the bench
Nevertheless, France’s coach Didier Deschamps initially only directed a better B-Elf onto the lawn. Among other things, Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann were given a break – Karim Benzema was not there either. Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku and Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby were allowed to play from the start.

Rabiot manages to make it 0: 1, Kramaric equalizes
In the second half, things got a little better, at least for the French. And they were quickly rewarded: in the 52nd minute, Wissam Ben Yedder sent his team-mate Adrien Rabiot down the left. The midfielder sped past Josip Juranović and scored the 0-1 past keeper Dominik Livaković.
This goal did not mean victory, however, because Kramaric, who came on late, found an answer. He equalized with a penalty in the 82nd minute after being knocked down by Jonathan Clauss, who was also a substitute.
