After his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach ended on June 30, Marcus Thuram has decided on his future. The striker will play for Inter Milan from next season.
Thuram moved to Gladbach from the French second division club EA Guingamp in 2019 and scored 44 goals in 134 competitive games and prepared 29 more goals. The 25-year-old was already facing a move to the Nerrazurri in the summer of 2021, before the deal, for which Borussia would have received 37 million euros, went through, but Thuram was seriously injured in the Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen. The French international is now moving to Milan on a free transfer after not wanting to extend his contract in the Lower Rhine region.
This time there was a “no” for Eberl
Shortly before his yes-word for Inter, local rivals AC Milan are said to have almost made Thuram’s commitment perfect, but the player decided at the last moment, according to several media reports. Thuram is said to have previously decided against moving to Paris St. Germain and Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. Thuram brought their sports manager Max Eberl to Gladbach four years ago.
