Felix Zwayer checks the scene in the video area and points to the point. A questionable decision. There was no visible foul by Christoph Kobald.
68
19:55
Penalty for HSV – or not? After a low cross from the right, Kobald and Glatzel fight for the ball in the middle. Hamburger goes down and referee Zwayer points to the point. The situation is being reviewed.

Everything is still open here in the Volksparkstadion. At the moment the host is more active than the opponent. Tim Walter’s team boldly plays forward and wants to equalize. Nevertheless, the boys from the Hanseatic city have to watch out for dangerous counterattacks by Karlsruhe.
64
19:51
Next long shot! This time, Bakery Jatta takes heart and pulls away from the center twenty meters in front of the goal. over!
63
19:50
Coats from the second row! The lively midfielder tries from a central position. The ball is deflected and Gersbeck steers it around the post to the corner to be on the safe side. It brings nothing.
61
19:49
Despite the HSV goal, it can be stated that Karlsruher SC has played a great away game so far. Christian Eichner’s team repeatedly plays purposefully forwards from a stable defense.
60
19:47
After the double change, Tim Walter does it again. He takes down the assist to the 1:2, Giorgi Chakvetadze, and brings on Faride Alidou.

What a start to the second half! After the 0: 2 by the guests, the Hamburgers are not at all shocked and hit back at lightning speed.
52
19:40
Tooor for Hamburger SV, 1:2 by Robert Glatzel
HSV scored the goal immediately after the restart! Chakvetadze serves the scorer with a nice cross from the left edge of the penalty area. Glatzel climbs up the far post and heads the ball past keeper Gersbeck into the far corner!
50
19:38
Tooor for Karlsruher SC, 0:2 by Philipp Hofmann
The guests start the second half perfectly! Marvin Wanitzek marches through midfield until just before the sixteen and is not attacked at all. He shoots from the inside left position and Daniel Heuer Fernandes saves the shot forward. There is top scorer Philipp Hofmann and dusts off from a central position!
49
19:36
Great attention from Gersbeck! Jatta is sent steeply to the right in the penalty area. He brings the ball directly inside, where Glatzel is ready to score in front of the goal. The Karlsruhe keeper is wide awake, comes out of his box and grabs the ball.
48
19:35
11:5 is the score on goal in favor of the guests from Karlsruhe. We’re curious to see if Hamburg will be able to do more with their ball possession in the second 45 minutes.

Kick-off 2nd half

19:21
Mid-term conclusion:
KSC leads 1-0 at the break in Hamburg. The hosts had more of a share of the game overall, but the visitors from North Baden had the better chances to score. Hamburg repeatedly plays successfully into the last third, but then there is a lack of both creativity and accuracy. The guests usually switched quickly after winning the ball and repeatedly shook the Hamburg defense. Shortly before the break, however, it was a directly converted free kick by Heise that put Karlsruhe in front. If the hosts want to go further, they have to provide more power in the offensive in the second half. To be continued soon!

19:17
Yellow card for Christoph Kobald (Karlsruher SC)

19:17
Cueto! The substitute, who was born in Cologne, moves into the penalty area from the left, hits a hook inside and pulls from eleven meters. But the shot is too misplaced and Heuer Fernandes has no problems.
45
19:16
There are two minutes of stoppage time on top of that.

19:15
Official injury time (minutes): 2
43
19:14
It’s getting restless in the Volksparkstadion. The hosts have immense problems in the last third to get chances. Again and again we see inaccurate passes and attentive Karlsruhe defenders.
40
19:10
Tooor for Karlsruher SC, 0:1 by Philip Heise
The KSC leads! The 30-year-old circles the ball from a free kick from twenty meters to the left around the wall into the corner! Heuer Fernandes takes a long time, but doesn’t get to it. But the mistake was probably in the positioning of the wall. The HSV players weren’t wide enough so that the goal scorer could easily put the ball in the left corner.
39
19:09
Yellow card for Jan Gyamerah (Hamburger SV)
Good free-kick position for the KSC! Gyamerah can only stop the fast Cueto with a foul just before his own sixteen. That could be dangerous.
38
19:08
The hosts have a little more of the game overall, but the visitors from Baden have the better chances up to this point. The 62 percent possession of the ball has not given HSV a real big chance. Karlsruhe switched again and again and set dangerous counterattacks via the fast Goller.
36
19:06
outside net! After a Hofmann chance, Hamburg switches over at lightning speed. Chakvetadze sprints away and tries a shot from a tight angle. The ball is deflected and almost lands in the short corner. Gersbeck would have looked old there. But the ball flies into the side netting.
33
19:03
Hamburger SV now dominates and passes the ball around the penalty area. However, the flanks and passes in the danger zone usually do not want to arrive. If Glatzel gets the ball in the sixteen, a man from Karlsruhe is there immediately and pokes the ball off his foot.
30
18:59
Glatzel digs through three people in the penalty area on the right and then takes out a corner kick. He comes dangerously in front of the goal, but a Karlsruher can clear the next standard with his head. But the corner remains harmless.
28
18:58
Double chance for the North Badeners! O’Shaughnessy throws the ball far into the penalty area and then Karlsruhe make two attempts to shoot, but both are blocked by the home side’s defence.
27
18:57
So Choi definitely can’t go on. Cueto replaces the 26-year-old.
26
18:56
Substitution at Karlsruher SC: Lucas Cueto
26
18:56
Substitution at Karlsruher SC: Kyoung-rok Choi
25
18:55
This does not look good. Choi appears to have injured himself. He’s sitting on the floor and needs treatment. A change is already being prepared at KSC.
24
18:54
Bald head! The striker climbs up on the five after a cross from the left and heads the thing just past the goal on the right.
22
18:52
Huge chance to 0:1 for Karlsruher SC! Choi is released on a counterattack to the left of the sixteen and only has the goalkeeper in front of him. The South Korean takes a hard shot from the left half from eleven yards, but goalkeeper Heuer Fernandes stops and saves!
20
18:50
Outstanding tackle by Schonlau! Goller is sent on his way with a long ball, puts the ball past the rushing keeper and curves around the goalkeeper. Then the Hamburg captain comes rushing up and kicks the ball clean off his foot on the right side of the penalty area.
18
18:48
smock! Chakvetadze finds the Giessen native with a cross from the left. Kittel takes the thing from a half-right position and ten meters directly, but shoots a good meter to the left.
16
18:46
Weak ball by Jatta. The 23-year-old has plenty of time to the right of the penalty area and wants to put the ball in the path of the approaching Kinsombi. But he doesn’t manage the pass over five meters and the thing rolls out. Goal kick.
13
18:43
First real chance of the game! Hofmann is served with a nice cross from the right. He wins the header duel on the left seven yards from goal, but doesn’t get enough pressure behind the ball. Keeper Heuer Fernandes can easily catch the ball.
11
18:42
The game is balanced. Neither team is dominant and has more game control than the other. Due to the courageous approach of both teams, there is a lot of free space that both clubs can’t use yet.
8th
18:38
Both teams make a lot of mistakes in their own possession. Even simple passes often don’t land cleanly on the other player. So far we still see a lot of technical issues on both sides.
5
18:35
Class ball on the starting smock. The 29-year-old takes the ball with him on the left side of the penalty area and crosses inwards. A Karlsruher fakes to the corner. It brings nothing.
4
18:33
Both teams run very high in the game against the ball. As a result, we see some turnovers in the early stages. A quiet build-up is not possible.
2
18:31
The HSV starts right away with a lot of pressure. Jatta is sent steeply on the right side. His flank now finds no buyers. A few seconds later, Chakvetadze tries from the second row – clearly wide to the right.
18:30
Before the game starts, the people in the stadium applaud Ukraine. A great gesture.
18:27
The two teams enter the lawn. You can start in a few moments!
18:22
While HSV ranks fourth in everyday league play and is playing for promotion, KSC is eight points behind in ninth place. Most recently, Hamburg suffered a 2-3 defeat in the derby against Werder Bremen. Karlsruhe have taken seven points from their last three games and picked up a point in the 1-1 draw with Schalke last Saturday.
18:17
The two clubs have already met in the 2nd Bundesliga this season. In the first leg, the two teams drew 1-1 after goals from Kittel and Hofmann.
18:10
At Karlsruher SC there is only one change compared to the game against Schalke. Christoph Kobald starts in central defense for Daniel Gordon.
18:01
HSV coach Tim Walter changed his derby team to three positions. Jan Gyamerah, David Kinsombi and Giorgi Chakvetadze have replaced Moritz Heyer, Ludovit Reis and Faride Alidou in the starting eleven.
17:53
At KSC, getting into the round of the last eight teams wasn’t quite as spectacular. After a goalless first half at the Grünwalder Stadion, Christian Eichner’s team took the lead at 1860 Munich thanks to a converted penalty from Marvin Wanitzek. The only goal of the game was enough for the North Badeners to progress.
17:42
What a thriller that was in the DFB Cup Round of 16 between 1. FC Köln and HSV! After the boys from the Hanseatic city took the lead after less than two minutes in extra time through Robert Glatzel, Cologne came back in extra time and equalized. Ultimately, HSV benefited from the fact that Cologne’s Florian Kainz shot himself in the last penalty because he slipped. After a referee review, Tim Walter’s team was in the quarterfinals.
17:42
Hello and welcome to the Volksparkstadion for the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup and the game between Hamburger SV and Karlsruher SC. It starts at 18:30.
