Bayern were unbeaten in all competitions this season until last Sunday. Head coach Straus’ team has three wins, one draw and one defeat in their first five Bundesliga games and is third in the women’s Bundesliga with ten points. The Munich team suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against the champions from Wolfsburg last Sunday. FCB are now five points behind the Wolves. Things have also been going well internationally for the FCB women. After successfully qualifying for the Champions League, there was a narrow 2-1 win against Rosengard on the first day of the game. This puts the runners-up in second place in Group D with three points and one game less.

The season in the domestic league has been flawless for Benfica so far. After four games played in the Liga BPI, the reigning champions are tied with city rivals Sporting and Braga in second place. The goal difference of 15:0 speaks for the defensive line of the Portuguese women. However, coach Patão’s team suffered a 9-0 defeat against FC Barcelona after a successful qualification in the first Champions League game. This puts the Portuguese in fourth place in Group D.
