Regarding the lineups: Marco Rose makes three changes compared to the weekend and switches from a three-man to a four-man chain. Benjamin Šeško, Emil Forsberg and Amadou Haïdara take over for Lukas Klostermann, Kevin Kampl and Christoph Baumgartner (all bench). Red Star coach Barak Bakhar rested some of the regulars at the weekend and made six changes. Only keeper Glazer, Djiga, Kanga, Ivanić and Krasso remain.

For the Serbian hosts, today is the last chance to keep the option of progressing open. There is only one point recorded so far and it was scored in the home game against what was supposed to be the easiest opponent, Bern. Even in the fight for third place, which entitles them to continue playing in the Europa League, Red Star is currently not exactly at an advantage. In the domestic league, the champions were recently able to gain self-confidence with a 3-1 win against Radnik Surdulica.

For the first time this season, RasenBallsport Leipzig lost two competitive games in a row. The cup exit in Wolfsburg (0-1) was followed in the league by a rather uninspired performance at Mainz 05, which resulted in a 0-2 defeat. Marco Rose’s team now wants to get back on track in the premier class. After the 3-1 victories in Bern and in the first leg against Belgrade, the Saxons could book their place in the round of 16 early with another win today, provided Manchester City does not lose their home game against the Young Boys at the same time.
