TSG Hoffenheim has put their coach André Breitenreiter on leave after the last nine games without a win in the Bundesliga. This was reported by the “Kicker” and the “Bild-Zeitung”.
A day earlier, TSG lost 5-2 at VfL Bochum. Breitenreiter then spoke of “eleven total failures” in his team, based on the first half, which went 3-0 to the team from the Ruhr area.
He will not put up with such a performance in the future, said the 49-year-old football teacher during the press conference.
Hoffenheim slipped down to 14th place in the table due to their tenth defeat of the season and is only ahead of Bochum because of the better goal difference. After the tenth matchday, TSG was still in fourth place, just two points behind FC Bayern Munich.
Breitenreiter came as a Swiss champion
Breitenreiter came in the summer of 2022 as FC Zurich’s master coach and successor to Sebastian Hoeneß, who had to go after a similar negative series at TSG.
Previously, the native of Lower Saxony worked as a trainer at SC Paderborn, Schalke 04 and Hannover 96, among others.
