The lead for Stuttgart is deserved because the home team clearly dominates the game. Union could have scored at least one goal if they had exploited their chances better. It’s a very entertaining game.

Great for VfB Stuttgart, 1-0 by Serhou Guirassy
There’s the lead for VfB! Karazor has way too much space in the center. He plays a perfect pass to Guirassy on the half-right side of the penalty area. The striker is free and in his current form he doesn’t miss this chance. He shoots the ball perfectly from 14 meters with his right half-high against the left inside post, from where the ball goes into the goal. Rønnow had no chance at all.

Union with the next big opportunity! Nübel plays a risky high pass towards the left corner of the penalty area, which is intercepted by Gosens. The national player directly serves Schäfer, who volleys home from eleven meters. Nübel makes amends for his mistake and strongly parries the half-high shot to the right corner.

8:46 p.m
Stuttgart counter-presses aggressively and hardly gives Union any room to breathe. The guests always try to bring some peace and quiet.

8:44 p.m
Millot has the lead! Stiller plays a strong chip ball into the path of Mittelstädt on the left. The full-back lays flat back to Millot from the baseline. The Frenchman finishes from twelve meters with his inside left side, but his shot goes just over.

8:40 p.m
Stuttgart struggled a bit in the first five minutes, but now the third-place team is back in rhythm. Union is currently limited to defending.

8:39 p.m
Next good chance for the home team. Rønnow misses a cross so that the ball lands at Millot’s feet in the six-yard box. The Frenchman doesn’t realize the opportunity that presents itself to him quickly enough. Rønnow takes the ball off his foot.

Stuttgart will be dangerous for the first time! A diagonal ball reaches Führich on the left wing. Mittelstädt runs behind his teammate. He gets the ball into his stride and then crosses from the baseline into the middle. Guirassy can’t get a header in the six-yard box, so the ball ends up at Vagnoman. The full-back seems a bit surprised and doesn’t manage to finish. In the end Rønnow has the ball.

8:34 p.m
Union has a huge first chance! Stuttgart’s central defense doesn’t look good with a long, high ball. Stenzel lets the ball bounce and then pushes away from Vertessen slightly. The Belgian gets the ball ten meters to the left of the goal. He quickly shoots with his right. His shot goes just wide to the left.

Game start
19:53
Nenad Bjelica swaps two positions at Union compared to the defeat against Dortmund. Gosens is back from his yellow card suspension. He starts on the left wing and pushes Roussillon to the bench. In addition, Vertessen is preferred to Hollerbach in the attack.
7:48 p.m
Regarding personnel: Sebastian Hoeneß is making a change at VfB compared to the 3-2 win against Wolfsburg, which probably falls into the load management category. Captain Waldemar Anton initially sits on the bench. Pascal Stenzel starts in defense for him.
19:41
But with Union Berlin comes an opponent who is not easy to play against. The Köpenick team lost 2-0 against Dortmund last Saturday. Before that, they managed four games in a row without defeat. What speaks for Stuttgart, however, is that Union has not yet scored points against a top team this season. So far there have only been defeats against Leverkusen, Bayern, Stuttgart, Dortmund and Leipzig.
19:33
VfB Stuttgart is still in outstanding form. The Swabians have not lost in six Bundesliga games. Five of these six games were even won. The view can be directed upwards in the table. FC Bayern are only four points away. Can Stuttgart even catch up with the record champions in this historic season? It would only be the sixth time in the club’s history that VfB ended up in one of the top two places in the Bundesliga and of course the best result since the 2007 championship.
Hello and welcome to the 25th matchday in the Bundesliga. Today at 8:30 p.m. VfB Stuttgart will face 1. FC Union Berlin.
